Hello ya'll! Hope this finds everyone well and happy that Summer is upon us! I, personally, have grown to love summertime more and more as I got older. Yes, it gets really hot here but the blessings of summer are endless. Many memories are made during the summer as kids are out of school and cookouts with family & friends are a regular weekend thing. There's fresh produce abundantly available, blockbuster movies to see at the theaters, no major holiday to scramble & stress over and everyone's favorite... those weekend visits to the white, sandy beaches of Florida. Ahhh, life is truly good in the south! In our Summer issue we have given you a few things to help you plan your summer and a few things just for you to enjoy. We are working on several new projects to bring you more & more things to help with your daily life and to enjoy each day. We will soon have the online version of jody magazine/j-outdoors magazine loaded with bonus features that you will LOVE! We are also working on websites for both mags for your convenience, that will include regular updates on sales & specials from local businesses! As for our facebook pages, we are about to add some apps that will enable easy access to our online magazines and maybe even something YOU can have input with! And last but not least, I will be starting a new blog soon! It will be a lot like the magazine and include quick, informative info, cute stuff & fun stories, but it will also include tips and advice on marriage, raising children, "mid-life" situations and inspirations to help you follow your dreams! Stay on the look-out! We're going to start a new journey together!
On a more serious note, I recently spent a day in Hackleburg, AL, one of the towns leveled by the April 27th tornadoes. Please keep these friends in your thoughts and prayers. And if you have a free weekend this summer, go up and help re-build some houses, in that town or another one. Within minutes these people lost everything. Have you really stopped to imagine yourself in that position? I had the pleasure of meeting some people, who having lost EVERYTHING themselves, were still working right along beside me to load supplies for OTHERS. Each told stories of having a neighbor or friend who didn't make it out alive or of themselves being "picked up" by the tornado and dropped a football field length away. Their lives will be in turmoil for a long time to come and we must not forget.
So, in closing, be sure to pick up the Summer issue of jody magazine (available starting Thursday, June 2) and enjoy! Email us your thoughts and your ideas for the magazine! We LOVE to hear from you! We're in this life together so let's make the very most of it.... in a fun & of course, cute way!
Until next time....
amy
